Azalea Festival

The
Azalea Festival has been an ongoing festival in the City of South Gate for over 43 years and counting. In years past the festival was organized by local
community organizations to have the local residents of South Gate “Pretty-Up” the city and grow flowers and in return, receive
City awards and special recognition.
Since then, the festival has now become an annual city festival which
includes a week long schedule of community events. These events include community
organizations and club dinners, Festival Queen Selection, fashion shows, track
meet, car show, parade, and carnival. At
this years festival we will be adding even more vendors, famous headliner
performers and a much larger carnival show for the family. The attendance in past years has been
averaging 25,000-30,000 guests. Our goal
at this year’s festival is to increase the attendance to not less than 50,000

Annual 4th of July
Festival

The
Annual 4th of July Festival has been ongoing in the City of South Gate for over 50 years.
This festival will include much of the same as the Azalea Festival with
the addition of Fireworks on the 4th of July. We plan on having great entertainment
throughout the week with two special performances by the All American Boys
Chorus on the 4th. We plan to
bring some great headliner performers and attractions for the whole
family. The attendance in the past for
this event has been recorded as 30,000-40,000 guests. Our goal is to surpass that number and have
not less than 60,000 guests. This
festival is also known to be a good festival for our vendors as it is with the

Monterey Bay
Strawberry Festival

The Monterey Bay Strawberry
Festival is one of the largest “Strawberry Festivals” in the State. This year is the 13th year of this
festival. Last year the festival was
moved from the Downtown area to a city park (Ramsay Park) in Watsonville. This was such
a great move that also helped with the attendance and growth. This festival is known for it’s
wonderful strawberry delights and non-stop entertainment. The attendance for this festival has been
known to be over 70,000 guests. Our goal
is to have over 85,000 guests this year. This event fills up quickly with vendors,
